Commercial van hire for business
MEJE Rentals hires commercial vans to sole traders and corporate entities running their own courier, removals, or haulage operations. This is distinct from our in-house courier service, where our own drivers deliver on your behalf, here, you hire the vehicle and drive it yourself, under a commercial rental agreement.
Choose your operation
Pick what you run and we will lift the vans that suit it. Filter by what you carry, and send a quote with the vehicle and term already attached.

Agreement terms
| Short hire | Longer hire | |
|---|---|---|
| Term | From 14 days, fixed | Up to 3 months, fixed |
| Mileage | Agreed for each hire | |
| Deposit | Shown before you commit | Shown before you commit |
| Young Driver | Additional deposit for drivers under 25, on either term | |
| Best for | A defined job with an end date | Ongoing work, renewed with a new agreement |
The mileage allowance is agreed for each hire and written into your booking confirmation, with higher allowances for heavy use. Where none is agreed, the standard 1,000 miles a week applies. Nothing rolls over: to carry on past a hire, we start a new agreement.
Before a handover can happen
Insurance
Comprehensive commercial vehicle insurance covering your intended use, with MEJE Ltd noted as an interested party. Courier or parcel work needs our written agreement and Hire & Reward cover. We do not provide motor insurance, and a handover cannot go ahead without it.
Deposit
A refundable security deposit, with the amount depending on the vehicle and shown before you commit. Drivers under 25 pay an additional Young Driver Deposit. Refunded within fourteen working days of return, less any itemised deductions.
Eligibility
Sole traders, limited companies and partnerships. A corporate agreement is signed by a duly authorised director, partner or officer. The business is responsible for its named drivers, and we may ask for a personal guarantee.
Pricing
Rates on each van are from prices per week; part weeks are charged pro rata, so you only pay for the days you keep it. A refundable security deposit applies. Multi-van and long-term arrangements are quoted, because the term and the rate both change with the size of the fleet.
Membership
A MEJE membership for regular business customers is in development. We are not publishing the tiers or the savings yet. Register your interest and we will come to you first when it opens.
Full terms are set out in our Terms & Conditions and the specific commercial rental agreement signed at the time of booking.
Commercial hire questions
Frequently asked questions
What insurance do I need?
Valid commercial vehicle insurance covering your intended use, with MEJE Ltd named as an interested party. If the van is used for courier or parcel delivery, that has to include Hire and Reward cover. We do not provide motor insurance as part of a rental, and a handover cannot go ahead without it.
Is this the same as your courier service?
No. Here you hire the van and drive it yourself under a commercial agreement. If you would rather our own drivers carried the goods, that is the in-house courier service.
How long can I hire for?
A fixed term from two weeks up to three months. Nothing rolls over: for ongoing work, we start a new agreement when each one ends. The mileage allowance is agreed for each hire, with 1,000 miles a week as the standard where none is agreed.
Can a sole trader hire, or do I need a limited company?
Both. We hire to sole traders as well as to limited companies and partnerships. A corporate agreement has to be signed by a duly authorised director, partner or officer.
Who is liable if a driver damages the van?
The business. A business renter is responsible for its named drivers, employees and agents, and is liable for damage during the hire except damage caused by our negligence, a defect present at collection, or fair wear and tear, so it is worth being deliberate about who you put behind the wheel. We complete a joint condition report with photographs at handover, which is what settles any later question about damage.
What deposit is required?
A security deposit, with the amount depending on the vehicle and shown before you commit. Drivers under 25 pay an additional Young Driver Deposit. Deposits are refunded within fourteen working days of return, less any itemised deductions.
Can I hire more than one van?
Yes. Multiple vehicles and ongoing arrangements are quoted rather than booked online, because the term and the rate both change with the size of the fleet. Tell us what you need and we will price it.
